How to sell something: Tip #42

Be polite, until it’s time to not be polite.

Yes, it’s a bad take on a Roudhouse line, but it stands true.  When pulled over by the cops, do you want the satisfaction of yelling at The Fuzz, or do you want to not get a $250 ticket?

You’ll be amazed at what a upbeat, open attitude will get you when trying to get your way.  It’s taken me through more arduous confrontations with utility companies and officers of the law than I care mention.

"Wonderful day, isn't it officer?"

Has being polite ever worked out especially well in your favor?

I could not agree more. I know several "chicks" who get plenty of tickets. I have no doubt for the reasons you describe.

Cops have a work envirmoment where one in a thousand driver might just take a shot at them. Do they appreciate one who is polite, honest and earnest? Hell yeah.

Oh, and the most lovely of all accesories a woman may wear is her smile.

:)
